Enlhancing the Surround Sound Effect
The Surround function expands the audio listening field wider and deeper than you would believe possible from a TV's
speakers. This function process stereo signals from a TV broadcast or VIDEO input.
The Sub-Bass System allows you to inprove bass-performance (even when the sound volume is Iowl.

Note on the Surround function
Normally you can leave the MTS function
set to "STR" and the Surround function set
to "ON". The TV will automatically pro-
duce either Surround-ster-ee or monaur_tl,
depending on the brq_dca,st type.

Note on the Sub-Bus-System
The Sub-Bass System does dot operate
through the "VARIABLE AUDIO OUT"
jacks. (See page 43.) However, the above
on-screen displays will appear when the
buttcns are pressed.

Select "STR" mode following the steps on
the previous page.
Press DSP/SUR on the Remote Control to
call up the Surround ON/OFF mode on the
screen display as shown.
Press DSP/SUR until "SURROUND ON" is
displayed in magenta.

The Surround function has now been activated.
To deactivate the Surround effect
Select "SURROUND OFF" in step 2 above.
The Sub-Bass System allows you to improve bass perfcrmance (even
when the sound volumes is low).

Press CYC/SBS on the Remote Control to
call up the SBS ON/OFF mode display.
Press CYC/SBS until "SBS ON" is dis-
played in magenta.
Press -or + while the SBS ON/OFF mode
display shown above is on the screen to
call up the SBS level adjustment display.
Press + to increase the SBS level.
Press - to decrease the SBS level.
