CALiFORNiA EMiSSiON CONTROL WARRANTY STATEMENT
YOUR WARRANTY RIGHTS AND OBLiGATiONS
The CaliforniaAir ResourcesBoardand MTDConsumerGroup Inc are pleasedto explainthe evaporative emissioncontrolsystemwarrantyon
your2007 lawnmower.In California,new lawnmowermustbe designed,built and equippedto meetthe State'sstringentanti-smogstandards.
MTDConsumerGroup Inc mustwarrantthe EECSon your lawnmowerfor the periodof time listedbelowprovidedtherehas beenno abuse,
neglector impropermaintenance of your lawnmower.
YourEECSmay includepartssuch as the carburetor,fuel-injectionsystem,the ignitionsystem,catalyticconverter, f uel tanks,fuel lines,fuel caps,
valves,canisters,filters, vaporhoses,clamps,connectors,and otherassociatedemission-related components.
Where a warrantableconditionexists,MTDConsumer Group Inc will repair your lawn mower at no costto you including diagnosis, parts
and labor.
MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY COVERAGE:
This evaporative emissioncontrol systemis warrantedfor two years.If any evaporative emission-related parton yourequipmentis defective,the
partwill be repairedor replacedby MTDConsumerGroup Inc.
OWNER'S WARRANTY RESPONSIBILITIES:
As the lawnmowerowner,youare responsible for performanceof the requiredmaintenance listed in yourowner'smanual. MTDConsumerGroup
Inc recommends that you retainall receiptscoveringmaintenance on yourlawn mower,but MTDConsumerGroup Inc cannotdenywarrantysolely
for the lack of receipts.
As the lawnmowerowner,youshouldhoweverbe awarethat MTDConsumerGroup Inc may denyyouwarrantycoverageif yourlawnmoweror a
part hasfaileddue to abuse, neglect,or impropermaintenance or unapproved modifications.
Youare responsiblefor presentingyourlawnmowerto MTDConsumerGroup Inc'sdistributioncenteror servicecenteras soonas the problem
exists.The warrantyrepairsshouldbe completedin a reasonableamountof time,not to exceed30 days.If youhavea questionregardingyour
warrantycoverage,youshouldcontactthe MTDConsumerGroup Inc Service Department a t 1-800-800-7310.
GENERAL EMISSIONS WARRANTY COVERAGE:
MTDConsumerGroup Inc warrantsto the ultimatepurchaserand eachsubsequentpurchaserthat the lawnmoweris: Designed,builtand
equippedso as to conformwith all applicableregulations;and free fromdefects in materialsand workmanship that causethe failureof a warranted
partto be identicalin all materialrespectsto that partas describedin MTDConsumerGroupInc'sapplicationfor certification.
The warrantyperiodbeginson the datethe lawnmoweris deliveredto an ultimatepurchaseror first placedinto service.Thewarrantyperiodis two
years.
Subjectto certainconditionsand exclusionsas statedbelow,thewarrantyon emission-related parts is as follows:
1. Anywarranted p artthatisnotscheduled f orreplacement asrequired maintenance i nthewritten instructions supplied, i swarranted f orthewarranty period
stated above. I fthepartfailsduring theperiod ofwarranty coverage, thepartwillbe repaired or replaced byMTDConsumer Group Incaccording tosubsec-
tion(4) below. A nysuchpartrepaired or replaced under warranty willbe warranted f orthe remainder oftheperiod.
2. Anywarranted p artthatisscheduled o nlyforregular inspection i nthewritten instructions s upplied iswarranted f orthewarranty period statedabove. A nysuch
partrepaired or replaced u nder warranty willbewarranted f ortheremaining w arranty period.
3. Anywarranted p artthatisscheduled f orreplacement asrequired maintenance inthewritteninstructions supplied iswarranted f ortheperiod oftimebefore the
firstscheduled replacement dateforthatpart.If thepartfailsbefore thefirstscheduled replacement, thepartwillbe repaired or replaced byMTDConsumer
Group Incaccording t o subsection ( 4)below. A nysuchpartrepaired or replaced under warranty willbewarranted fortheremainder oftheperiod prior tothe
firstscheduled replacement pointforthepart.
4. Repair o r replacement ofanywarranted partunder thewarranty provisions h erein mustbe performed a ta warranty station at nocharge to theowner.
5. Notwithstanding theprovisions h erein, w arranty services or repairs willbeprovided atall ofourdistribution c enters thatarefranchised t oservice thesubject
engines or equipment.
6. Thelawnmower o wnerwillnotbecharged fordiagnostic l abor thatis directly associated w ithdiagnosis o fa defective, emission-related warranted p art,
provided t hatsuchdiagnostic w orkis performed a ta warranty station.
7. MTDConsumer Group Incisliable fordamages t ootherengine or equipment components proximately caused bya failureunder warranty ofanywarranted
part.
8. Throughout thelawnmower w arranty period statedabove, M TDConsumer Group Incwillmaintain a supply of warranted p artssufficient to meet t heexpected
demand forsuchparts.
9. Anyreplacement partmaybe usedintheperformance of anywarranty maintenance or repairs andmustbe provided w ithout c harge totheowner. S uchuse
willnotreduce thewarranty obligations o f MTDConsumer Group Inc.
10.Add-on o r modified parts thatarenotexempted b ytheAir Resources B oard maynotbeused. T heuseof anynon-exempted add-on or modified partsbythe
ultimate purchaser willbegrounds fordisallowing a warranty claims. M TDConsumer Group Incwillnotbe liable towarrant f ailures of warranted p artscaused
bytheuseofa non-exempted add-on or modified part.
WARRANTED PARTS:
The repairor replacementof anywarrantedpart otherwiseeligiblefor warrantycoveragemay be excludedfrom such warrantycoverageif MTD
ConsumerGroup Inc demonstrates that the lawnmowerhas beenabused,neglected,or improperlymaintained,and that such abuse,neglect,or
impropermaintenance was the direct causeof the needfor repairor replacement o f the part. That notwithstanding, a ny adjustment o f a component
that hasa factory installed,and properlyoperating,adjustmentlimitingdeviceis still eligiblefor warrantycoverage.Thefollowingemissionwarranty
parts list are covered:Fuel Line,FuelLineClamps
