Displaying the presenttime
The present
time display on the fluorescent
display
shows the
current
time when the VCR is turned
off or when a tape is not
loaded into the VCR. If you have not set the clock (or if there has
been a power failure
of more than
30 seconds),
the display
will
show -

To see the current
time when the VCR is on:

Press the DISPLAY
button
on the i_ont panel or on the
remote control.
The ];,resent time dis:play appears
on the TV
screen.

To turn offthe

time display,
press the DISPLAY

once. During
playback,
the present
time display
automatically
turns off at%er 4 seconds.
Searching T echniques
The VCR lets you search
through
a tape in a number
of ways.
These include:
• Edit searching,
• Speed searching,
• Searching
by time,
• Searching
for a blm_k portion
of l_ape, and
• Index search techniques.
Edit searching
Edit search
is very useful for editing
out commercials
if you are
recording
a program
while you are watching
it. It is also useful
as
a general
editing feature.
This feature
is sometimes
called EE
(electronic-to-electronic)
editing.
This function
works only when you are :in =record-pause"
mode.
To use edit search:
During
record pause, press the FF or :{{EWbutton
on the
remote
contro] or on the front panel
_, locate the point where
you want to resume
recording.
