General
Recommendations

3. Changingof engine-governed speedwill void
enginewarranty.
4. All adjustmentsshouldbe checkedat leastonce
eachseason.
5. Periodically checkall fastenersand makesurethese
are tight.

Lubrication
1. Lubricatepivot pointson the bladecontrolat least once
a seasonwith lightoil. The bladecontrolmustoperate
freelyin bothdirections.See Figure3.
2. Lubricatethe wheelsat least oncea seasonwith
lightoil (or motor oil). If wheelsare removedfor any
reason,lubricatesurfaceof the axle boltand inner
surfaceof thewheelwith light oil. See Figure3.
3. Lubricatethe torsionspringand pivot pointon the
chutedeflectorperiodically with lightoil to preventrust.
See Figure3.
4. Followthe accompanying engine manualfor lubrication
scheduleand instruction forengine lubrication.
Engine Care
1. Changethe engineoil regularly, a s instructedin the
enginemanual.Checkoil levelbeforestartingengine
everytime.
2. Serviceair cleanerevery25 hoursundernormalcondi-
tions.Toservicethe air cleaner,referto theseparate
enginemanualpackedwith yourunit.
3. Cleanthe sparkplug and resetthe gap to.030"at least
oncea season.Referto the engine manualfor correct
sparkplug type. Referto Figure4.
Mower
Care
Cleanundersideof the mowerdeck after eachuse to
preventbuild-upof grass clippingsor otherdebris. Follow
stepsbelowfor thisjob.
1. Disconnectspark plug wire. Draingasolinefrom lawn
mower,or placea pieceof plasticunder thegas cap
See Figure4.
2. Tip the mowerso that it restson the housing.Keep
the sidewith the air cleanerfacingup. Holdthe mower
firmly.

ARNING: Never tip the mower
more than 90 degrees in any
directions and do not leave the
mower tipped for any length of
time. Oil can drain into the upper
part of the engine causing a
starting problem.
3. Scrapeand cleanthe undersideof the deck with a
suitabletool. Do notspraywith water.
4. Putthe mowerback on its wheelson the ground.If you
had put plasticunderthe gascap earlier,makesureto
removeit now.
