spark plugin by handto preventcross-threading.

spark plugseatsto compressthe washer.Whenreinstalling a used
spark plug,tighten 1/8-to 1/4-turn after the sparkplug seatsto

Cleaning
the Engine
If the engine hasbeen running,allowit to cool for at least halfan hour
beforecleaning.Periodicallyremovedirt build-upfromengine.
Do not spraythe enginewithwater to cleanit becausethewater
couldcontaminate the fuel. Usinga gardenhoseor pressurewashing
Iequipmentcanalso forcewater intothe muffleropening.Waterthat

and cleanbeforeevery use.
LUBRICATION
Lubricatethe pivot pointson the controlhandleand the extension
springat the end of thecontrol cablewith a lightoil onceeveryseason
and beforethe snow throweris putinto storageatthe end of the
season.
ADJUSTMENTS
Shave
Plate
Tocheckthe adjustment o f theshaveplate, placethe machineon a
levelsurface.The wheels,shaveplateand augersshouldall contact
the levelsurface.Notethat if the shaveplateis adjustedtoo high,
snowmay blowunder theauger housing.If the shaveplatewearsout
excessively, o r the snow throwerdoes not self-propel,theshaveplate
may be too lowand needsto be adjusted.

Loosenthefour lock nuts and bolts whichsecurethe shave
plateto the housing.See Figure16.Movethe shaveplateto the
desiredpositionand retightenthe nuts and bolts securely.

If the starteris difficultto pull,removethe spark plugand pull the
handle severaltimesto ensurethat anyoil trappedin the headis
removed.
Oil maycome out of the sparkplug hole whenit is removedand the
starterhandle is pulled.
6.
Inspectthe spark plug.If itiswet, cleanoff any oil before
re-installing.
NOTE:On newsnowthrowersor machineswith a newshaveplate
installed,theaugersmay be slightlyoff the ground.
Toadjustthe shaveplateproceedas follows:
1.
Drainthe gasfrom the snowthrower.
2.
Pull the startercord until resistanceisfelt. Thentip the snow
throwerbackuntil it restson the handles.
