Problem

Problems and Solutions
Solution
1. Check that keyboard/mouse is plugged
into correct port.
2. If using USB mouse, try different USB
port.
3. Check password (see Chapter 2).
4. Disable password (see Chapter 2).
5. Replace keyboard (or mouse).
6. Replace interface board (see Chapter 3).
7. Replace system board (see Chapter 3).
1. Check that system power is on.
2. Ensure that system is not in power saving
sleep mode. Press the space bar or move the
mouse to wake the system up.
3. Adjust brightness controls on LCD unit.
4. Check that LCD panel interface cable and
power cable are connected to system board
(see Chapter 3 and Chapter 4).
5. Replace LCD panel (see Chapter 3).
1. Check PC Card for correct insertion in
slot.
2. Remove PC Card and insert in other slot.
3. Check PC Card driver installation for IRQ
or I/O conflict.
4. Replace PC Card with a different card to
see if system works. If card works, replace
bad card.
5. Check if the PC Card bay is firmly
plugged into its connector on the system
board. Otherwise, replace the PC Card bay
(see Chapter 3).
1. Turn system power on.
2. Check that drive is secured in the optical
drive bay connector.
1. System power not on. Turn system power
on.
2. System power failed. Insert the end of a
straightened paper clip into emergency eject
hole, then gently press inward until tray
opens.
