You can attach lace edging in one simple
operation. Fold the edge
of the fabric about

over to the wrong side, following the
texture,
and preferably iron it down. Place the
straight edge of the lace onthe
fold of the fabric and sew it down with narrow
zigzag stitches, taking
one stitch into lace and fabric and the
other into lace only. Cut off
excessive cloth on the wrong side of the
material close to the seam.

Insert fashion disc C, and tighten upper and
lower thread tensions.
Shell edging is an effective fashion trim
an blouses (particularly those
made of delicate, soft fabrics). Fold fabric
along desired line. Guide
work so that needle takes one stitch in the
fabric, and the other over
its edge. (As the threads interlock outside
the material, its edge is drawn
back, producing the desired shell edging).
Shell edging makes a nice trimming on
handkerchiefs, too.
