HOOK-UP CABLES AND CONNECTORS
Most video/audio connections between components can
be made with shielded video and audio cables that have
phono connectors. For best performance, video cables
should use 75-ohm coaxial shielded wire. Cables can be
purchased from most stores that sell audio/video prod-
ucts. Below are illustrations and names of common con-
nectors.
Before purchasing any cables, be sure of the output and
input connector types required
by the various compo-
nents. Also make sure the cables are the correct length.
300-Ohm Twin Lead Connector
This outdoor antenna cable must be connected to an
antennaadaptor (300-Ohmto 75-Ohm).
"F" Type 75-Ohm Coaxial Antenna Connector
For connectingRF signals(antennaor cable "I-V)to the
antennajack on the television.

Phono Connector
Used on all standardvideoand audio cables whichcon-
necttoinputsandoutputs locatedontheTelevision's front
and rear jack panels.
S-Video (Super Video) Connector
This connectorisused on camcorders,VCR's, and laser
disc players with an S-Video feature in place of the
standardvideo cableto producea high-quality picture.
ANTENNA CONNECTIONS
TO REAR JACK PANEL

VHF (75-Ohm) antenna/CATV(cable TV)
When usinga 75-Ohm coaxialcable system,connectthe
outdoorantennaor CATV coaxialcable to the VHF/UHF
75 Ohm terminal. If you havea secondantennaor cable
TV system,connect t he coaxial cabletotheAUX terminal.
VHF (300-Ohm) antenna/UHF antenna
When using a 300-Ohm twin lead from an outdoor an-
tenna,connectthe VHF or UHF antennaleads to screws
of the VHF or UHF adaptor. Plug the adaptor into the
antennaterminalon the TV.
When both VHF and UHF antennas are connected
Attachan optionalantennacable mixerto the TV antenna
terminal,and connectthe cables to the antenna mixer.
