    II. PREPARING THE CARPET BEFORE CLEANING Vacuum Carpet NOTE: Never use this carpet shampooer/ extractor as a standard vacuum cleaner. For best results, vacuum carpets with a vacuum cleaner that has a brush roll. The bristles of the brush roll help loosen and remove soil that is deep in the carpet nap.

Automatic Shut-Off The automatic suction shut-off functions when the recovery tank is full of liquid. This can be detected by a noticeable difference in the motor sound.

Use a crevice tool for hard to reach areas such as tufts and corners.

Before storing the carpet shampooer/extractor, on a linoleum or vinyl surface put the unit in the floor mode and use clean water (without solution) to flush out all remaining particles in the carpet shampooer/extractor unit.
