Read this entire manual before u sing y our c harger. The tips below serve only asa guide
forspecific s ituations.
Ifyourvehicle w on't s tart: Y ou don't need
tofullycharge a battery t ostart y our v e-
hicle. Ifthe charger won't start y our v ehicle
using the80ASTART r ate, t rycharging
thebattery u sing t he30A rate for10or15
minutes. Thatshould charge t hebattery
enough t oallow the80ASTART r ate to
start t hevehicle. If thevehicle w illthen
beoperated continuously
foranextended
period (such asa long drive), thevehicle
could charge t hebattery b ack to normal
during thatperiod. If thevehicle w illonly
beoperated forashort period ( short drive),
the battery might need t obecharged again
before i tcould start t hevehicle a gain.
Reviving y ourbattery: I f youonly wish
tocharge y our b attery e nough t ooperate
your v ehicle, you don't n eed t owait f orthe
entire charging process tobecompleted.
When thecharger displays a battery %
of77or more (seepage 13), t hebattery
hasusually b een charged enough f orthe
vehicle t ostart a ndoperate n ormally.
Completing a n
interrupted
charge:
if
the charging
process
has been interrupted
and restarted
after the charger
displays
a
battery
% of 85 or more, the charger
could
go straight
to Maintain
Mode
(see
page
8). However,
if the original
charge
was
started
using
3OA, the charge
can
often
be completed
using the 2A rate.
A minimal
amount
of care can keep your battery
charger
working
properly
for years.
1. Clean
the clamps
each time you are finished
charging.
Wipe off any battery
fluid
that may have come in contact
with the clamps
to prevent
corrosion.
2. Coil the input and output
cords
neatly when storing
the charger.
This will help pre-
vent accidental
damage
to the cords
and charger.
3. Occasional
cleaning
of the case of the charger
with a soft cloth will keep the finish
shiny.
