Man Fax Rcv Code TheManual Fax ReceiveCode allows you to start receiving a fax froman
(HP 1040 only) extensionphone. If you pick up the extensionphone and hear a fax tone,
enterthecode and thefax will start receiving..Youcannot change the * *, just
thenumberbetween them.The code can be 0 to 9.
ECM Mode Error correctionmodecompensatesforpoor linequality and ensuresaccurate,
error-free transmission with any other ECMequipped facsimile machine..If the
line quality is poor,transmissiontime may be increasedwhen ECM is
enabiedo

Distinctive Ring
Distinctivering (DRPD--distinctivering pattern detection) isa serviceprovided
by some telephonecompaniesthatassignstwo phone numbers1oone phone
line, each of which makesyour phone ring differently,. I f you subscribeto this
service,you can program your machine to learn one phonenumber and
