You can record a subject focusing on a single
part with a smaller focus area than usual. This
setting is particularly suitable to focus on the
eye when you take portrait photos.
[Preparation]
• Set the operational mode dial and REC mode
dial. (P25)

Press the [MENU] button.

Press &IT to select [SPOT AF].

Press 4/1_ to set to [ON].
4 Press the [MENU] button.
• The menu will disappear.
5 Center the subject in the spot AF
area,

Take a picture,
• The recording method is the same as in
'q'aking Pictures (AUTO Mode)". (P29)
• In AUTO [1"_1] or motion image [_] mode, it is not possible to record with the spot AF.
