Your FO-225 prints by means of thermal printing. The head applies heat to special paper which is
chemically treated to turn color when heated to a certain level, and this creates the printed text or
image.
Recommended paper
To assure a long life for your machine and obtain the best reproduction quality, we recommend
that you use the following Sharp recording paper:
FO-20PR
Recording Paper
216 mm x 30 m roll
This paper is available from your authorized Sharp facsimile dealer.
Using a non-Sha~ brand ofpapermay result inpoorcopy quali~andexcess ive build-up of residue
on the head.
Sharp paper has a black stripe on the last 1.5 m of the roll which activates the paper-out sensor in
the machine. When it detects this stripe, the machine finishes printing the current page, and then
stops. This ensures that the printer head does not come in direct contact with the paper feed roller
when the end of the roll is reached.
Using paper without the proper end mark may cause the paperfeed roller to rub directly on the
printer head, eventually damaging both the roller and the head.
Handling and storing recording paper
The paper may become discolored if:
s It is stored in a place with high humidity or high temperature.
It is exposed to direct sunlight.
" it comes in contact with glue, thinner, or a freshly copied blueprint.
c It is scratched, causing heat due to friction.
s A rubber eraser or adhesive tape is used on it.
Do not unpack the paper until you are ready to use it.
