Detection
System
This system measures the distance to the subject. The distance is calcuIated
by the difference
in the image of the subject captured by a pair of sensors.
Pixels
A pixel is the smallest unit (dot) used to make up an image CIear large-sized
printed images require miIlione of pixets.
Resolution
The size of an image expressed
by the number of pixels that make up the
image. For instance, a picture taken in 640 x 480 resolution is the same size
as the screen when the monitor setting is 640 x 480. However,
if the monitor
setting is 1024 x 768, the picture only takes up part of the screen.
S (Shutter
Priority)
Mode
Also called Shutter Priority AE mode. The user selects the shutter speed and
the camera automatically
varies the aperture so that the picture is taken with
the best exposure.
Slave
Flash
A wireless flash that is not connected
to the camera by a synchronization
cord. It flashes in phase with the flash on the camera and can be used for
lighting techniques,
such as changing the way shadows
are cast on a
subject.
