Understanding the Multi-Channel Surround Displays
Source sound displays
The letters (L, C, R, etc.) indicate the source sound. The boxes around the letters vary to
show how the system down*nixes the source sound (based on the speaker settings).
When using music sound modes like HALL, the system adds reverberation based on
the source sound.
Although the table below shows almost all of the configurations available from multi-
cha_mel surround signals, the ones marked "vr" are the most common.

• Tiae system performs Pro Logic decoding and the display conforms to 2/0"* when using the following
movie sound modes with 2/0"* or fflEREO PCM format signals. (C. STUDIO A, B,C, V MULTI. D.)
• When using music sound modes like HALL with standard audio formats, like PCM, the system creates
r_ar signais frorn the front L and R signals. However, a center speaker signal is not oeated. _ _ _,
sound is output from the rear speakers, but output channelindicators for the lear speake_ do not light.
