For fully automatic
selection
at optimal
settings
for specific
scenes,
simply
let the camera
determine
the subject
and shooting
conditions.
Turn the camera on.
Press the power
button.
The startup
screen
is displayed.
Zoom Bar
Focus
Range
(approx.)
Enter <t!_)>
mode.
Set the mode dial to <1_]_)>.
Aim the camera
at the subject.
The
camera
will make a slight clicking
noise
as it determines
the scene.
Icons representing
the scene and image
stabilization
mode are displayed
in the
upper
right of the screen

58).
Frames
displayed
around
any detected
subjects
indicate
that they are in focus.
Compose the shot.
To zoom
in and enlarge
the subject,
move
the zoom lever toward
<E_3> (telephoto),
and to zoom
away from the subject,
move
it toward
<[]>
(wide angle).
(Azoom
bar
showing
the zoom
position
is displayed.)
To zoom
in or out quickly, move
the zoom
lever all the way toward
<E_]> (telephoto)
or <1_]> (wide angle),
and to zoom
in
or out slowly,
move it just a little in the
desired
direction.
