Catalytic converter, exhaust gases
Flashing with the engine running indicates
a fault that ma y dam age the cataly tic
converter. Y ou c an continue to drive
without c ausing dam age b y slow ing down
until the flashing stops and the control
indicator is steady. Consult a workshop
immediately . We recomm end y our
Vauxhall Authorised Repairer.
Control i nd icator A for engine
elect ronics
Illum inates for a few seconds when ignition
is switched on.
If it comes on when the engine is running,
there is a fa ult in the engine or transmission
electronics. The electronics switch to the
emergency running programm e, fuel
consumption may inc rease a nd the
driveab ility of the vehicle may be affected.
In some cases, the fault can be elim inated
by switching the engine off and ba ck on
again. If the control indicator illuminates
again when the engine is running, consult a
work shop to have the cause of the fault
remedied. We recommend your Vaux hall
Authorised Repairer.
If it illuminates briefly, but does not rec ur, it
is of no significance.
Illumination of A can a lso indicate water
in the diesel fuel filter 3. H ave the fuel filter
checked for water - see p age 184. We
recommend that y ou consult y our Vauxhall
Authorised Repa irer.
If it flashes after the ignition is switched on,
there is a fault in the im mobilizer system .
The engine c annot be started -
see page 45.
