AF-assist
Beam
o The AF-assist
beam will sometimes
emit
when the shutter
button
is pressed
halfway
to assist focusing
in certain conditions,
i.e.
dark conditions.
o The AF-assist
beam can be turned off
(p. 69).
For example,
if animals
are your subject,
turn off the beam when shooting
in the dark
to avoid startling
them.
However,
please
keep in mind the following
facts.
- Ufthe AF assist beam is turned
off, it may
become
more difficult
for the camera
to
focus
in dark conditions.
-The
red-eye
reduction
lamp may emit
when you press the shutter
button
halfway
even if the AF-assist
beam is turned
off.
o in order to prevent
any lamp from emitting
before the flash fires, set both the red-eye
reduction
function
and the AF-assist
beam
to [Off]. in the Shooting
menu.

Right after a shot is taken, the image displays
on the LCD monitor for approximately
3
seconds (the duration of display can be
changed.) In addition, the image will keep on
displaying regardless of the review duration
setting by performing one of the following
operations.
o Keeping
the
shutter
button
fully
pressed
o Pressing
the
SET
button
while
the image
is
displayed*
Press
the shutter
button
halfway
again
to stop
displaying
it so that you can shoot
the next image.
You can perform
the following
while
images
are displayed.*
o Erase the image (p. 65).
• Display
the image's
information
(p. 27).
o Magnify the image (p. 59) (When
pressing
the SET button while the image
is
displayed.)
• Not available
in E_(Stitch
Assist) mode.
