5. RIS Server Setup
If the Windows 2000 CD-ROM needs to be upgraded by a
Service Pack, the CD-ROM should first be copied into a
temporary folder. The Service Pack should then be applied to
this folder and finally this folder should be imported as a CD-
ROM image under RIS interface.
If RIS is not yet installed, go to
Start>Programs>Administrative Tools>Configure
your server and click on "Networking" and then on
"Remote Access". Finally, run the wizard.
1. Go to Start>Programs>Administrative
Tools>Active Directory Users and Computers
and then double-click on Domain Controllers.
The name of the Windows 2000 server should be
displayed (in this document, it is W2KSRV).
2. Right click on it and then click on Properties, and
then on the Remote Install tab. Check the
"Respond to client computers requesting
service" box.
3. Next, click on Advanced Settings and check the
New Clients tab to customize the computer names of
the RIS clients.
4. Click on the Images tab, then on Add and then
check the "Add a new installation image" box.
