5. Type the new password in the next available field and press Enter.
o If Step 4 was a new password then skip to Step 7.
o If Step 4 was a current password, then continue with Step 6.
NOTE
Entering nothing in the "Enter new password" field followed
by entering nothing the "Confirm new password" field will turn
off the password setting, changing it to "Clear." If the
Supervisor Password is changed to "Clear", the User password
is also forced to "Clear."
6. If necessary, re-type the new password in the Confirm New password: [
field and press Enter.
After re-entering the new password and pressing Enter, the pop-up menu
disappears and the " Supervisor Password is" field changes to "Set" and on the
next boot, the HP Server will request a password to access the Setup Utility.
7. If you only want a single password (Supervisor), you may skip the "Set User
Password: [Enter]" field and go to Step 11 to exit the utility and save changes.
8. If you want to enter a User password, use the arrow key to scroll to the "Set
User Password: [Enter]"field and repeat Steps 3-6 for the User password.
9. If you want to set a Password for access to the Flexible Disk Drive, scroll
down to "Diskette Access: [Supervisor, or User]" and select your choice of
access control.
10. If you want to set a Boot Password scroll down to "Password on Boot:
[Disabled]" and change to [Enabled].
11. If you have finished setting or changing passwords, press the Esc key to move
to Exit menu.
12. Choose Exit Saving Changes from the list of exit options, and then press
Enter.
A dialog appears and asks you to confirm your decision.
13. Choose Yes and then press the Enter key.
The HP Server reboots and the password changes have been accepted. After
the Server reboots, you will be required to use your new password to enter the
Setup Utility or complete the boot process. If you forget your password, refer
to "Resetting Lost Passwords" in Chapter 9, "Troubleshooting."
14. To change one of the passwords at a later date, return to the Security menu
and repeat Steps 3 through 6 above for one or both passwords.
