Note: Your microprocessor socket and cover might look slightly different from the illustration.
d. Carefully press the socket cover straight downwards until it is secured into the socket.
e. Lower the microprocessor retainer and then lower the lever to secure the retainer. Make sure the
lever is securely locked into position.
14. If you are instructed to return the system board, follow all packaging instructions, and use any packaging
materials that are supplied to you for shipping.

Installing the system board

Attention: Do not open your server or attempt any repair before reading and understanding the "Safety information"
on page iii and "Guidelines" on page 35.
This section provides instructions on how to install a new system board after a failing system board
is removed.
CAUTION:
The heat sink and microprocessor might be very hot. Turn off the server and wait three to
five minutes to let the server cool before removing the server cover.
To install a system board after a failing system board is removed, do the following:
