W ireless L AN AP Configuration
The "Long Preamble" can provi de
better wirel ess LAN compatibility while
the "Short Preambl e" can provide
better wirel ess LAN performance.
If you enable "Broadcas t ESSID", ever y
wireless station loc ated within the
coverage of this acc ess point c an
discover this acc ess point easil y. If you
are building a public wireless network,
enabling this feature is rec ommended.
Disabling "Broadc ast ESSID" can
provide better s ecurity.
If you enable "IAPP", it will allow
wireless station roaming between IAPP
enabled acc ess points within the s ame
wireless LAN.
This is also c alled CTS Protection. It is
recommended to enable the protecti on
mec hanis m. T his mechanis m can
decreas e the r ate of data c ollision
between 802.11b and 802.11g wireless
stations. When the protection mode is
enabled, the throughput of the AP will
be a little lower due to many of frame
traffic should be trans mitted.
