Removing Jammed Paper

Paper jams occur in the following three areas.
Check in the order listed:
1. The Multi-purpose feeder/tray
2. The toner cartridge area
3. The output area

Clearing a Jam in the Multi-purpose
Feeder/Tray Area
1. Open the top cover and remove the toner
cartridge.
2. Look for a sheet of paper protruding approxi-
mately 1 inch from underneath the movable
metal plate.

3. Hold the plate up while you firmly but care-
fully pull the sheet of paper out of the printer.

4. Reinstall the toner cartridge.
5. Close the top cover.
6. Open the cassette and remove any jammed or
partially fed paper.
7. If the paper was fed from the Multi-purpose
tray (MP Tray), remove all of the paper from
the multipurpose tray, including any jammed
or partially fed paper.
8. Reload the Multi-purpose tray.
9. Close the cassette and resume printing.
