Chapter 1: Setting Up the Printer

Unpacking the Printer

Remove the printer from the shipping box and
place it on a stable, level surface.
WARNING! The printer weighs
approximately 28 lbs. without options or
consumables installed. Use care when
removing it from the shipping box and
ask for assistance.
After you have removed the printer and accesso-
ries from the shipping box, lift the top cover of the
printer and remove the styrofoam cube from
inside. Check to make sure you received all of the
items listed below. If any item is missing or
damaged, contact the store where you purchased
the printer.
1. Printer with 250-Sheet paper cassette
2. Toner cartridge
3. AC power cord
4. Accessory kit

• Warranty card and Quick Reference Guide
• Software diskette and SuperScript 1260
" Solutions" CD
1-4 NEC SuperScript 1260 User's Guide
Note: It is very important to install the
software properly in order for this printer
to work.
Save this user's guide for reference and all
packing materials (including the shipping
carton) in case the printer needs to be repacked.
