Insufficient Disk Space
The NEC SuperScript 1260 driver software
requires at least 3 megabytes of free disk space.
Clear enough disk space on your hard disk before
beginning installation.
Removing Previously Installed
SuperScript Software
You must remove any previously installed
SuperScript software (except the NEC SuperScript
860) before installing the new software, or your
printer driver may fail to work. If Windows does
not work normally, you can start Windows in Safe
Mode, then remove the previous SuperScript
software by running the un-install program.
Refer to Chapter 3, "Installing the Software" and to
the Windows documentation (or to Windows
Help) for information about Safe Mode.

Clearing Paper Jams and Wrinkling

When paper jams during a print run, the Jam light
on the operator panel will light up.
Common causes of paper jams include:
Problem: The paper used is not recommended for
this printer.

Solution: Switch to a paper that is recommended
for use with this printer. Make sure the
paper is dry and undamaged.
Problem: The paper is not loaded correctly in the
cassette.
Solution: Remove the paper and reload it
correctly. Do not over-fill the paper
cassette.
Problem: The paper, transparencies, or labels
used are sticking together.
Solution: Fan the media before loading it into the
paper cassette. See page # 6-9 of
Chapter 6.
Problem: The printer is not on a stable, level
surface.
Solution: Find a more suitable location for the
printer.
Problem: The paper is wrinkled as it comes from
going through the printer the second
time as in 2-sided printing.
Solution: After the first pass through the printer,
roll the paper in the opposite direction
of the curl before inserting it back into
the printer.
