Playing a Cassette Tape
Your tape player is built to work best with tapes that
are
30 to 45 minutes long on each side. Tapes longer than
that are so thin they may not work well in this player.
With the radio on, press a tape into the slot marked
AUTO REVERSE (tape side goes in first).
FWD: Press FWD to advance the tape rapidly. Press
FWD or PROG again to play the tape. (The radio plays
while a tape is advancing.)
PREV: To hear the passage on the tape that has just
played, press PREV. The tape will back up and stop at
the first four-second quiet spot in the tape or the spot at
which you press PROG or PREV.
Once the tape is playing, use the upper and lower
knobs
for volume, balance and fade just as you did for the
radio. The arrow in the graphic display shows which
side of the tape is being played.
This audio system has automatic
00
Dolby@B NR to
reduce background noise on Dolby encoded tapes.
Dolby is a registered trademark of Dolby Laboratories.
PROG: To go from one side of the tape to the other,
press the PROG button.
Cr02: This button sets the tape bias. When playing
high-bias chrome or metal tapes, press the Cr02 button
(the button will light). When playing standard tapes,
press CrO2 again to turn it off.
REV Press REV to reverse the tape rapidly. Press REV
or PROG again to play the tape. (The radio plays while
a tape is rewinding.)
NEXT To go immediately to the next selection on the
tape, press NEXT. The tape will stop at the first
four-second quiet spot in the tape or the spot at which
you press PROG or PREV.
ST-PL: To switch from tape to radio immediately, press
the ST-PL button and the radio will resume playing the
station that was tuned in when you inserted a tape.
Pressing ST-PL again will allow the tape to resume
where it stopped.
EJECT To remove or stop the tape and listen to the
radio, press the EJECT button. Tapes may be ejected
even when the radio is off.
