PRINT MODE
Specifies whether the printer uses the banding mode or page
protect mode.
Banding mode (BAND), which is the default, is designed to use
the printer's memory as effectively as possible. If a printer error
occurs when using this mode, you need to expand your
printer's memory, simplify the page you're printing, or change
the setting to PAGE. Most documents are printed faster in
banding mode than in page protect mode.
Page protect (PAGE) mode uses data from the computer to
create the entire virtual page in the printer's memory before
printing. This allows you to print some documents that require
more memory than is allowed in banding mode. However,
page protect mode requires more memory and it may take
longer to print in page protect mode.
Note:
Page protect mode usually requires at least 2 MB. (The actual
memory requirements depend on the page size.) If your printer has
less than 2 MB, BAND is automatically selected, even if you
manually select PAGE.
MULTI GRAY
Turns the Multi Gray feature on and off. This feature enhances
grayscale printing if your software program supports halftone
images. If you want to print your documents using standard
PostScript grayscale, turn MULTI GRAY off.
Note:
In order to turn on the MULTI GRAY option,
support halftones.
