The Compaq Maximum Recommended Ambient Operating Temperature (TMRA) for most server products is 35°C (95°F).     Airflow Requirements Compaq ProLiant rackmount servers draw cool air in through the front door and exhaust warm air out the rear. Therefore, the front door of the rack must be adequately ventilated to allow ambient room air to enter the cabinet, and the rear door must be adequately ventilated to allow the warm air to escape from the cabinet.

    Installing Hardware Components Preparing the Server To install options, upgrades or replacements in the following areas, you must first shut down the server power. Accessing Processors, Memory Board and Sockets, and System and Peripheral Boards WARNING: To reduce the risk of electrical shock or damage to the equipment, disconnect power from the server by unplugging all power cords from either the electrical outlet or the server.

When adding processors, first remove the terminator board and then install the processor and Processor Power Module (PPM).
