Eye-Fi

This chapter includes:
An Eye-Fi card is a secure digital high-capacity (SDHC) memory card with wireless function. Using an Eye-Fi card, you
can scan to the card and transmit the images wirelessly to a computer or mobile device, such as a tablet computer
or smartphone. Compatible mobile devices include the iPad, iPhone, and Android. BlackBerry devices are not
supported at this time.
The Eye-Fi card functions with or without a wireless access point (WAP). When a WAP is not found, the Eye-Fi card
becomes the WAP. This means that the Eye-Fi card functions as a wireless network when a wireless network is not
found. Images are then transferred wirelessly from the card to the computer or mobile device.
Multiple image formats are supported. For example, the Eye-Fi card supports transfer of JPG and RAW files. A special
feature of the card supplied with your scanner is the ability to transfer PDF files.
Images can be transferred to computers, mobile devices, your Eye-Fi account, and services such as Facebook and
Evernote.
