2 Operating the surround mode and the surround
parameters from the main unit's panel

SELECT
Turn the knob to select the surround
mode.
When turned clockwise:
DIRECT STEREO DOLBY PRO LOGIC
MONO MOVIE 5CH/7CH STEREO

VIRTUAL SURROUND
When turned counterclockwise:
DIRECT STEREO DOLBY PRO LOGIC

To select the surround mode while adjusting the surround
parameters, tone defeat or tone control, press the
SURROUND MODE button, then operate the selector.

Press and hold in the
button to select the parameter you want to set.
The parameters which can be set differ for the different
surround modes are displayed. (Refer to "Surround modes
and parameters" ( page 51).)

VIDEO GAME
ROOM SIZE:
This sets the size of the sound field.
MATRIX
There are five settings: "small", "med.s" (medium-small),
"medium", "med.l" (medium-large) and "large". "small"
recreates a small sound field, "large" a large sound field.

EFFECT LEVEL:
DTS NEO:6
This sets the strength of the surround effect.
VIDEO GAME
The level can be set in 15 steps from 1 to 15. Lower the level
if the sound seems distorted.
MATRIX
DELAY TIME:
The delay time can be set within the range of 0 to 110 ms only
in the matrix mode.
TONE CONTROL:
This can be set individually for each surround mode except
DIRECT.
