The RPx400 and Recording

Windows 2000 Users

1. Start your computer.
2. Insert the X-Edit CD into your CD drive.The installation menu should automatically appear (if
installation does not start automatically, go to Start>Run, click on Browse button, find and dou-
ble-click instmenu.exe on the X-Edit CD).
3. First you must install the USB drivers needed by your computer system in order to use USB with
X-Edit and Pro Tracks. Make sure you do NOT have the RPx400 USB plugged into your computer.
4. Select USB Audio MIDI Drivers from the menu that appears. The RPx400 USB Drivers
Installer window will appear. Click the Next button.
5. The Digital Signature Not Found window will appear. Click the Yes button.
6. The Digital Signature Not Found window will appear again. Click the Yes button.
7. The RPx400 USB Driver Installer window will appear. Click the Finish button.
8. Plug the RPx400's USB into your computer.You will see multiple messages pop up indicating that
your computer has found a USB device. There are multiple messages because there are four USB
devices in the RPx400, two MIDI devices and two audio devices. The following is a guide through
these pop up messages.
9. Once the RPx400's USB is connected, the Digital Signature Not Found window will appear.
Click the Yes button.
10. The Found New Hardware Wizard window will appear. Click the Finish button.
11. The System Settings Change window will appear. Click the No button.
12. Another Digital Signature Not Found window will appear again. Click the Yes button.
13. Another Found New Hardware Wizard window will appear. Click the Finish button.
14. Another System Settings Change window will appear. Click the No button.
15. Another Digital Signature Not Found window will appear again. Click the Yes button.
16. Another Found New Hardware Wizard window will appear. Click the Finish button.
17. Another System Settings Change window will appear. Click the No button.
18. Another Found New Hardware Wizard window will appear. Click the Finish button.
19. Another System Settings Change window will appear. Click the Yes button. Your computer
will restart.
You are now ready to record with Pro Tracks using your RPx400. To use the recording features of the
RPx400, please read the Using Pro Tracks section of this User's Guide

Installing X-Edit Editor Librarian

Once you have the USB drivers are installed you can then install the X-Edit Editor/Librarian software. To
Install X-Edit, follow these steps:
1. Return to the installer menu (from USB Driver Installation step 2) and select DigiTech X-Edit.
2. The installer will now check your computer for Microsoft .NET Framework. If it is not found, the .NET
installer will be launched. Follow the instructions that appear.
3. When the .NET installer has completed, Welcome to the Installation Wizard for DigiTech X-
Edit 1.0 appears. Click the Next button.
4. Fill in the customer information. Select Anyone who uses this computer to allow all users to use
X-Edit. Select Only for me if you want to be the only user to use X-Edit on the computer. Click the
Next button.
5. On the next screen, click the Install button.
6. When the installation is complete, click the Finish button.
You are now ready to begin using the X-Edit Editor/Librarian software with the RPx400.
