3.6 Installing Dedicated CX4 Cable

3.6.1 Installing Dedicated CX4 Cable
Note:
Make sure that you have installed a CX4 interface module before installing dedicated
CX4 cables.
Step 1: Put on an ESD-preventive wrist strap and verify the ESD-preventive wrist strap
properly grounded. Then take out the dedicated CX4 cable from the package.
Step 2: Horizontally plug the plug of the dedicated CX4 cable into the CX4 interface of
the switch and pay attention to the direction of the plug when plugging it.

3.6.2 Removing Dedicated CX4 Cable

Step 1: Put on an ESD-preventive wrist strap and verify the ESD-preventive wrist strap
properly grounded.
Step 2: Hold the plug of the CX4 cable, pull the handle at the end of the plug to
horizontally unplug the plug of the CX4 cable from the CX4 interface of the switch.
Caution:
Dedicated CX4 cable of the S5500-SI series is hot pluggable.
Make sure that the cable bending radius is no less than eight times of the cable
diameter when dedicated CX4 cable is connected.

3.7 Verifying the Installation

Check whether the selected power is the same as the power label on the switch;
Check whether the ground cable is connected;
Check whether the Console cable and power input cable are connected correctly;
Check whether all the interface cables are routed indoors. If there are cables
outdoors, check that the socket strip with lightning protection and lightning
arresters for network ports have been correctly connected.
