The BIOS cannot Ensure that the floppy
communicate with the drive or the hard drive is
floppy drive or hard installed correctly in the
drive controller. computer (see "Drives" on
page 128) and defined
correctly in the system
setup program (see
"System Setup" on
page 178). Check the
interface cable at both
ends.
An interrupt channel The keyboard or system
on the system board board may need to be
failed to POST. replaced.
The operating system Enter the system setup
cannot be located on program (see "System
drive A or drive C. Setup" on page 178) and
confirm that drive A or
drive C is properly
identified.
The BIOS has detected Ensure that nothing is
a stuck key. resting on the keyboard; if
a key appears to be stuck,
carefully pry it up. If the
problem persists, you may
need to replace the
keyboard.
