Tighten wheel studs 1 until
hand-tight and then tighten
to specified torque in diag-
onally opposite sequence.
Rear wheel to wheel
carrier
Tightening sequence:
Tighten in diagonally op-
posite sequence
60 Nm

Auxiliary stand

Use
BMW Motorrad offers a ser-
vice stand that holds the mo-
torcycle securely upright for
maintenance work. You can
obtain the service stand from
your authorised BMW Motor-
rad dealer.
Fitting the auxiliary stand
Make sure the ground is
level and firm and place
the motorcycle on its side
stand.
Place auxiliary stand
(001651) underneath the
motorcycle with the skids to
the front and the lever on
the left.
Push adjustable pin 1 all the
way out with the aid of lock-
ing pin 2.
Manoeuvre auxiliary stand
(001651) up at the narrow-
est point of the exhaust sys-
tem until it is positioned at
attachment point 3 above
the exhaust manifold.
