Set Charts
This section provides charts for the character sets
used with fonts in LaserJet 4P PCL 5 emulation.
The first character set chart is Roman 8 and contains
the subsets of US ASCII and Roman Extension. The
first 94 printable characters (the US ASCII character
set) reside in decimal locations 33 through 127
(hexadecimal 21 through 7F). The US ASCII char-
acters are found on a standard keyboard and are
selected by typing that character. For example, if
you wish to print the letter C, you type the C on your
keyboard or call out decimal location 67 or hexadeci-
mal 43 (column 4, row 3).
When selecting a character in the Roman Extension,
you must call out its decimal or hexadecimal loca-
tion. See your software manual to determine the
proper format.
