CHECKING AND CLEANING TERMI-
NALS AND LEADS
Reach the battery by removing
the inspection cover «1».
Check that the battery cable ter-
minals «2» and leads «3» are in
good conditions (and not corro-
ded or covered by deposits) and
covered with special grease or
petroleum jelly.

If necessary:
Make sure the ignition key is set
to «OFF».
Disconnect first the negative
lead (-) and then the positive
one (red) (+).
Brush with a metal bristle brush
to remove all signs of corrosion.
Connect again first the positive
lead (red) (+) and then the neg-

ative one (-).
Cover the leads and terminals
with special grease or petroleum
jelly.
Refit the battery.

Bereik de accu door het inspec-
tiedeksel «1» te verwijderen.
Controleer of de terminals «2»
van de kabels en de klemmen
«3» van de accu zich in goede
condities bevinden (en niet ver-
roest of bedekt zijn met afzettin-
gen) en bedekt zijn met speciaal
vet of vaseline.
Indien nodig:
Controleer of de ontstekings-
schakelaar zich in positie
«OFF» bevindt.
Maak eerst de negatieve kabel
(-) en daarna de positieve (rood)
(+) los.
Borstelt men met een metalen
borstel, om elk roestspoor te eli-
mineren.
Herverbindt eerst de positieve
kabel (rood) (+) en daarna de
negatieve kabel (-).
Bedek de terminals en de klem-
men met speciaal vet of vaseli-
ne.
Herplaats de accu.
