Chain backlash check (04_42)

To check backslash:
Stop the engine.
Place the vehicle on the stand.
Engage neutral gear.
Check that vertical oscillation at
the middle point between pinion
and crown on the lower part of
the chain is of about 20 ÷ 25 mm
(0.79 ÷ 0.98 in).

Move the vehicle forward so as
to check vertical oscillation in
other positions too. The slack
should remain constant during
all wheel rotation phases.

Controle van de speling van de
ketting (04_42)
Voor de controle van de speling:
Leg de motor stil.
Plaats het voertuig op de stan-
daard.
Plaats de hendel van de ver-
snellingsbak in vrij.
Controleer of de verticale
schommeling, in een tussenlig-
gend punt tussen het rondsel en
de kroon in de onderste vertak-
king van de ketting, ongeveer 20
÷ 25 mm (0.79 ÷ 0.98 in) be-
draagt.
Verplaats het voertuig vooruit,
zodat de verticale schommeling
van de ketting ook in andere po-
sities wordt gecontroleerd; de
