Long periods of inactivity

Battery performance will decrease if the
vehicle is not used for a long time.
This is the result of the natural phenom-
enon of battery discharging: this may be
due to residual absorption by scooter
components with constant power con-
sumption.
Poor battery performance may also be
due to environmental conditions and the
cleanness of the poles.
In order to avoid start-up problems and/
or irreversible damage to the battery, fol-
low any of these steps:
At least once a month start up
the engine and keep it running
slightly above idle for 10-15 mi-
nutes. This keeps all the engine
components, as well as the bat-
tery, in good working order.
Store the vehicle with the bat-
tery removed. Have the battery
cleaned, charged fully and stor-
ed in a dry, ventilated place. Re-

Lange stilstand

In geval van een verlengde inactiviteit
van het voertuig, verminderen de presta-
ties van de accu.
Dit gebeurt omdat de accu zelf leegloopt
en door mogelijke overblijvende absor-
beringen van het voertuig, die te wijten
zijn aan onderdelen die constant gevoed
worden.
Het verminderen van de prestaties van
de accu is bovendien afhankelijk van de
weersomstandigheden en van de reini-
ging van de polen.
Om mogelijke moeilijkheden bij de start
en/of onomkeerbare beschadiging van
de accu te vermijden, moet volgens de
volgende modaliteiten gehandeld wor-
den:
Minstens eens per maand
moet de motor gestart worden
en aan een regime gehouden
worden dat iets boven het mini-
mum ligt, en dit voor 10-15 mi-
