Withdraw the exhaust terminal (6) from
the flange (8).
NOTE
Upon reassembly, insert the exhaust
terminal (6) in the flange (8), making sure that
the tailpipe (9) is directed downwards.
Remove the gasket (10).
NOTE
Upon reassembly, replace the
gasket (10) with a new one.
Remove any deposit from the flange (8)
and the gasket seat (11).
NOTE
Prepare a flexible cleaning brush
(12) with suitable diameter.
CAUTION
Do not use any object or tool other than
the cleaning brush.
Do not insert any object, especially if
small, in the exhaust silencer or in the
exhaust terminal.
Do not insert the cleaning brush too
deeply.
Keep to the indicated depth.
Apply a reference mark (13) (like a piece
of coloured adhesive tape) on the clean-
ing brush, in order to indicate the depth
to be respected.
Depths to be indicated on the cleaning
brush:
A) = 320 mm; B) = 125 mm; C) = 250 mm
NOTE
After every cleaning operation,
remove the reference mark and remove
any deposit from the cleaning brush.
Insert the cleaning brush in the flange
hole (14), without exceeding the depth
(A).
NOTE
Use the cleaning brush pushing it
forward and backward.
Clean the final pipe of the exhaust si-
lencer (15) by means of the cleaning
brush.
NOTE
For the following operations, po-
sition the exhaust terminal (6) vertically
and insert the cleaning brush from the low-
er side.
Insert the cleaning brush in the inlet hole
(16), without exceeding the depth (B).
Clean the inlet pipe (17) by means of the
cleaning brush.
Rotate the exhaust terminal by 180°.
Insert the cleaning brush in the outlet hole
(18), without exceeding the depth (C).
Clean the outlet pipe (19) by means of
the cleaning brush.
