6.5 Sonar troubleshooting

Problems with the sonar and their possible causes and solutions are described here.
Problem
No data source for the fishfinder.
Problematic depth readings or sonar
image.

Possible causes
DSM power supply fault.
Other DSM fault.
SeaTalk

network problem.
Software mismatch between equipment
may prevent communication.
Gain or Frequency settings may be
inappropriate for present conditions.
DSM cable fault.
Other DSM fault.
Possible solutions
Check the DSM power supply and cables.
Refer to the instructions supplied with the DSM unit.
Check that the DSM is correctly connected to the display or SeaTalk
Check the status of the SeaTalk

cables are free from damage.
Contact Raymarine technical support.
Check the fishfinder presets, gain and frequency settings.
Ensure that the power, transducer and all other cables to the DSM unit are
properly connected and free from damage.
Refer to the instructions supplied with the DSM unit.
