14.4 Sonar / DownVision troubleshooting

Problems with the Sonar or DownVision and their possible causes and solutions are described here.
Problem
Sonar / DownVision data not available.
Problematic depth readings or
on-screen image.
Troubleshooting
Possible causes
Unit power supply fault.
Sonar disabled.
Sensitivity settings may be inappropriate
for present conditions.
Unit power supply fault
Unit cable fault.
Transducer location
Transducer fault
High vessel speed
Scroll speed set to zero
Possible solutions
Check the unit power supply and cables.
Select Enable Sonar from the Shortcuts page.
Check the Sensitivity settings.
Check the voltage from the power supply, if this is too low it can affect
the transmitting power of the unit.
Ensure that the power / transducer cable is properly connected and
free from damage.
Check that the transducer has been installed in accordance with the
transducer location requirements (refer to the Location and Mounting
section of the manual).
The presence of thin lines at a constant depth may be a reflection of
structures on the bottom of the vessel check that the transducer has
been installed in accordance with the transducer location requirements
(refer to the Location and Mounting section of the manual).
Check that the transducer is mounted correctly and is clean.
Check that the transducer hasn't kicked up due to hitting an object.
Turbulence around the transducer may be confusing the unit.
Adjust scroll speed
