To manage this (over)supply of channels and to keep them clearly arranged, the memory for the
TV channels is divided into two areas - a channel pool with 2,000 storage positions and 10
associated favourite lists with 1,000 storage positions each. The arrangement for the radio
channels is identical, i.e. there is a separate channel pool for 2,000 radio storage positions and
another 10 associated radio favourite lists with 1,000 positions each.
N.B.:
Please note that after a satellite, transponder or manual search the new channels
found are stored in the channel pool under «New Free» or «New CA».
On the «Channel Allocation» menu you will find all the channel pool channels in
the right-hand window.
Use the TV key to select «All Free» or «All CA» (CA stands for 'Conditional
Access', i.e. for encrypted channels) if you want to copy a channel from the
channel pool into one of the favourite lists.
In the «All Free» and «All CA» selection you will find both the previous (= old)
channels and the new channels found by a previous search.
After a search it is a good idea to use the TV key to make the «New Free» or
«New CA» selection, since only the channels newly found by the search are listed
here.
Use the + or * keys to select the channels, classify them and then if you wish
copy them using the OK key into one, or even several, of your favourite lists (more
about this can be found in section 4.1.1).
The favourite lists are currently pre-programmed in the factory as follows (subject to change!)

list.
You can also change the names (see 4.1.2) and/or the content of the favourite lists. Family
members may also wish to compile individual favourite lists with their own names.
Within a favourite list you can achieve greater clarity by using the "-----" channel name. This is an
«empty» channel that you can use as a dummy. You will find this dummy on the «channel
allocation» menu using the TV button under «All Free».
