Using Your 2 in 1 Vacuum Cleaner 1

  1. Rotate the Upper Cable Hook (2) clockwise until it is in the down position and release the mains cable.
  2. Fully unravel the mains cable and insert the mains plug into the nearest socket.
  3. Press the On/Off Switch (7) to power up the vacuum cleaner.
  4. Place your foot gently on the Floor Tool (12) and pull the cleaner back by the Handle (1) to start vacuum cleaning.

Using Your 2 in 1 Vacuum Cleaner Handheld

  1. Hold the Handheld Cleaner Handle (6) and press the Handheld Cleaner Release Button (5) to release the handheld section of the vacuum cleaner.

  2. Use the cleaner handheld to clean upholstered furniture and hard to get at areas:

    Insert the Crevice Tool (13) into the outlet of the handheld cleaner to clean carpet edges, stairs, etc.

Emptying and Cleaning Your Vacuum Cleaner


Always disconnect the cleaner from the mains power supply before cleaning.

  1. Once the dust level reaches the 'MAX' mark on the Dust Compartment (10) it will need emptying and the filters cleaned.

  2. To empty the cleaner, hold the Dust Compartment (10) and press the Dust Compartment Release Button (9) and remove the Dust Compartment (10). Empty the dust out into a bin.

    Do not continue to use your vacuum cleaner once the 'MAX' mark has been reached as permanent damage may occur to the appliance.
  3. Pull out the Conical Hepa Filter (11) from the Dust Compartment (10).
  4. Remove the mesh from around the Conical Hepa Filter (11).

  5. Wash the Conical Hepa Filter (11) in warm running water until the filter is clean. Allow the filter to thoroughly dry for 24 hours before reuse.
  6. Wash the filter mesh in warm running water until the filter is clean. Allow the mesh to thoroughly dry for 24 hours before re-fitting it around the Conical Hepa Filter (11).
  7. Remove the Air Outlet Filter Cover (8) by pushing the tab inwards and slide the Cotton filter out (see inset below). Wash in warm running water until the filter is clean. Allow the filter to thoroughly dry for 24 hours before reuse.

Care and Use of your 2 in 1 Vacuum Cleaner

  • Always disconnect the cleaner from the mains power supply before cleaning.
  • Clean outside of the cleaner with a clean damp cloth. Never clean with harsh or abrasive cleaners.
  • Do not submerge the cleaner in water or any other liquids.
  • Empty the Dust Compartment (10) as soon as the 'MAX' mark has been reached.*
  • Wash the Hepa and Outlet Filter regularly – see table below.
  • Allow the filters to thoroughly dry out for 24 hours before reassembly and use.


*Do not continue to use your vacuum cleaner once the 'MAX' mark has been reached as permanent damage may occur to the appliance.

Ensure the filters are cleaned periodically according to the table above, failure to clean the filters regularly will severely impair the performance and permanent damage may occur to the appliance.

Storing Your 2 in 1 Vacuum Cleaner

  1. Unplug the mains plug and return the Upper Cable Hook (2) to the upright position.
  2. Wrap the mains cable around the Upper Cable Hook (2) and the lower cable hook (4).
  3. Press the Handle Release Catch (3) so that the handle of the vacuum can be folded down for easier storage as shown:

NB the handle can be folded down with the mains cable wrapped around the cable hooks.

Electrical Connections

This appliance is fitted with a fused three-pin plug to BS 1363. If the plug has to be removed, it should be cut off and carefully disposed of immediately. To avoid a possible shock hazard, do not insert the discarded plug into a mains socket.

Fitting a new plug

The mains lead must be connected as shown below. The wires are coloured with the following code - Brown wire = Live (L), Blue wire = Neutral (N).

NB no connection must be made to the Earth (E) terminal.

  • The Blue wire must be connected to the terminal marked N or coloured Black.
  • The Brown wire must be connected to the terminal marked L or coloured Red.
  • Check that there are no cut or stray strands of wire inside the plug.
  • Use a 13 Amp BS 1362 fuse, only use BSI or ASTA approved fuses.
  • If you are in any way unsure which plug or fuse to use, always refer to a qualified electrician.
  • After replacing or changing a fuse on a moulded plug, the cover must be refitted to the plug; the appliance must not be used without a fuse cover.

Troubleshooting Guide

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Unit fails to turn on. The unit may not be properly plugged in. The fuse may have tripped. Ensure the plug is fully inserted into the socket and the socket is switched on. Check the fuse on the mains board, if it has tripped, reset it.
Low suction or poor pick-up. Dust Compartment is full. Filters are clogged. Empty the Dust Compartment. Check and clean the filters.
The vacuum is making a "hissing" sound. The airflow is restricted Empty the Dust Compartment. Check and clean the filters.
