Assembly

  1. Fit the handle onto the main body of the vacuum and secure into place by fixing the screw provided into the hole at the rear of the handle.
  2. Fit the main body of the vacuum onto the brush head and push home until it clicks into place, then fix the two screws provided into the holes at the rear of the main body.

Using the device hand held

Detatch the handheld unit from the main body by pressing the handheld vacuum release button (3) and tilting the handheld unit away from the main body.
To operate the handheld vacuum, use the handheld vacuum ON/OFF switch (4).
The crevice tool or upholstery tool can be attached to the handheld unit to clean hard to reach places and for cleaning soft furnishings.

Using the device upright

In the upright mode, the vacuum cleaner can be used to clean carpets and hard floors.
To operate the vacuum in the upright mode, use the upright vacuum ON/ OFF switch (1), the suction and brush speed can be selected using the speed button (2).
The brush assembly has a stall protection system. If the brush becomes fouled with excess fibre/string etc, the brush motor will automatically stop.

When the vacuum is in use, in either mode, the ON/OFF charge level indicator (5) will illuminate.
This indicator shows the level of charge left in the battery from three to one lights.

Charging

  1. Plug the power supply jack into the rear of the charging dock and the plug into a suitable socket outlet.
  2. Mount the vacuum on the base by aligning the vacuum with the charging mount (12) on the charging dock (11) and allow to drop into place.

  3. The vacuum will now start to charge.
  4. When all three lights on the ON/OFF charge indicator are lit, the vacuum is fully charged.

Cleaning and maintenance

To empty the dust cylinder, remove the handheld unit from the main body and press the dust cylinder release button (6), then tilt the dust cylinder forward, seperating it from the hand held unit motor section. Remove the filter from the dust cylinder and empty the cylinder. Clean the filter by tapping it lightly over a dustbin.
Disassembling the device for maintenance

Always disconnect the vacuum charging base from the mains power supply before cleaning.
Wipe clean the outside of the vacuum and charging base with a soft damp cloth. Never clean any part of the vacuum or charging base with harsh or abrasive cleaners.
Do not submerge any part of the charging base, power supply or vacuum in water or any other liquids

Troubleshooting guide

Problem Possible reason Solution

Motor does not operate

  • Battery is low on power
  • The hand held vacuum is not fitted to the main body. (Power to the brush head is supplied from the battery in the handheld unit)
  • Charge the battery
  • Correctly fit the handheld unit to the main body of the vacuum

Suction is reduced

  • Dust cylinder is full
  • Filter is clogged
  • The air duct to the upright brush head is blocked
  • Battery is low
  • Empty the dust cylinder
  • Clean or replace the filter
  • Clear the debris from the air duct
  • Fully charge the battery

Charge indicator does not light up

  • The handheld unit is not fitted to the main body
  • Properly fit the handheld unit to the main body of the vacuum cleaner

Operating time is reduced

  • The battery has not been fully charged
  • The battery is aging
  • Fully charge the battery as indicated in the charging section of this manual
  • Batteries will deteriorate over time, new batteries should only be fitted by qualified service personel

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

  • Regular, periodic checks should be carried out on the mains cable to ensure no damage is evident. Should there be any signs of damage the appliance should not be used.
  • If the power cable is damaged, it should only be replaced by the manufacturer or a suitable qualified after-sales-service in order to avoid a hazard
  • Allow the unit to cool before storage.
  • Before cleaning, disconnect the appliance from the mains supply and allow to cool.
  • This appliance is intended for household use only and should not be used for industrial purposes.
  • Do not use any accessories or attachments with this appliance other than those supplied or recommended by supplier.
  • Do not use this appliance for anything other than its intended use.
  • shock hazard Do not push objects into any openings as damage to the appliance and/or electric shock may occur.
  • Unplug after each use. Grasp the plug, not the cord.
  • Do not pull or carry the Vacuum Cleaner by the electrical cord, use the handles provided.
  • Ensure fingers and other objects are never placed in any part of the vacuum cleaner. Clothing or hair may become trapped if the vacuum is used improperly.
  • Keep hair, loose clothing, jewellery, fingers and all parts of the body away from openings and moving parts.
  • Keep all air vents clear and free of dust, lint, hair and anything else that may reduce airflow.
  • Avoid directing the appliance towards naked flames as the air discharged may extinguish gas fires or pilot lights and may disturb ashes in open fires.
