Assembling Your Device


Ensure that the vacuum cleaner is not connected to the mains supply before using the attachments.

Attach the Flexible Hose (14) to the vacuum cleaner by pushing the Hose Connector (15) into the Air Intake (10) until it clicks home, arrowed above:


NB to remove the hose, press the catches on either side (arrowed above) of the Hose Connector (15) and pull out of the Air Intake (10):

Attaching the Telescopic Tube and Floor Tool

  1. Push the Telescopic Tube (18) onto the Hose tool connector (17) as shown below:
  2. Extend the Telescopic Tube (18) to the desired length by pushing the catch down and extending.
  3. Attach the Floor Tool (12) to the other end as shown above
  4. Hose tool connector (17), Telescopic Tube (18) and Floor Tool (12) shown complete:

Using Your Device

  1. Pull the Mains Cable and Plug (5) fully out of the vacuum cleaner, do not use the vacuum without pulling the cable all the way out.
  2. Insert the mains plug into the nearest socket.
  3. Press the On/off Switch (2) to power up the vacuum.


NB Adjust the lever on the Floor Tool (12) according to the type of floor being cleaned. Push the lever down for use on hard floors (i.e. non carpeted, laminated, tiled, etc.), pull the lever up for vacuum cleaning carpets

Using the Crevice & Upholstery multi tool

Attach the Crevice & Upholstery multi tool (13) onto the Telescopic Tube (18) to clean carpet edges, upholstered furniture and hard to get at areas:

Fold the brush down to clean hard to get at areas and upholstery.

NB If the Telescopic Tube (18) is not required, the Crevice & Upholstery multi tool (13) or the Floor tool (12) can attached directly to the Hose tool connector (17) on the end of the flexible hose, this useful whilst cleaning soft furnishings, stairs, etc. as below:


Attached the Crevice & Upholstery multi tool to the Hose. Use the brush to clean upholstery.

Using the Hose and Pet Brush

For difficult to remove soiling on upholstery such as pet hairs, the pet brush can be used.
This should be fitted onto the hose as shown below.
The fixed combs and rotating pneumatic brush clean up the stubborn or matted hairs.

Using the Power/Speed Controller


This control is useful for varying the suction power. Rotate the control anticlockwise to reduce power whilst cleaning hard floors or similar and rotate clockwise to increase suction power for carpets, rugs, etc.

NB vacuum power can also be varied using the Air Control Valve (16) on flexible hose.

Emptying and Cleaning Your Unit


Always disconnect the cleaner from the mains power supply before cleaning.

  1. Once the Dust Bag Full Indicator (8) turns red as shown below, the dust bag will need replacing and the filters cleaned.

  2. To remove the bag, lift the Dust Compartment Release Catch (1).
  3. lift the dust compartment cover to reveal the dust bag holder.
  4. Lift out the dust bag holder and dust bag as shown below:


do not continue to use your vacuum cleaner once the Dust Bag Full Indicator (8) turns red as permanent damage may occur to the appliance.

  1. Push the bag retaining clip forwards as shown below (a.).
    Slide the card front of the bag out of the dust bag holder (b.) and dispose of the used dust bag. Slide the card front of the new dust bag into the dust bag holder ensuring the retaining clip locks the card into place.

  2. Whilst replacing the dust bag, slide out the dust compartment filter as shown a. & b. below. Wash the filter in warm running water until clean. Allow the filter to dry thoroughly for 24 hours before replacing and reuse:

  3. Finally, push the latch down on the rear air outlet & filter (3) cover as shown in a, b, & c below. Remove the filter and wash clean in warm running water ensuring it is thoroughly dry for 24 hours before replacing and reuse:

Care and Use of your Product


Always disconnect the cleaner from the mains power supply before cleaning.

  • Clean outside of the cleaner with a clean damp cloth. Never clean with harsh or abrasive cleaners.
  • Do not submerge the cleaner in water or any other liquids.
  • Empty the dust bagas soon as the dust bag full indicator (8) turns red.*
  • Wash the dust compartment and rear air outlet filters regularly – see table below.
  • Allow all the filters to thoroughly dry out for 24 hours before reassembly and use.


*do not continue to use your vacuum cleaner once the dust bag full indicator (8) turns red as permanent damage may occur to the appliance.

Dust Compartment Filter
  • Shake out debris once a month
  • Rinse under warm water once every 3-6 months
  • Allow to dry thoroughly for 24 hours before reuse.

Rear Outlet Filter
  • Shake out debris once a month
  • Rinse under warm water once every 3-6 months
  • Allow to dry thoroughly for 24 hours before reuse.


Ensure the filters are cleaned periodically according to the table above, failure to clean the filters regularly will severely impair the performance and permanent damage may occur to the appliance.

Fitting a new plug

The mains lead must be connected as shown below. The wires are coloured with the following code - Brown wire = Live (L), Blue wire = Neutral (N).
NB
no connection must be made to the Earth (E) terminal.

  • Ensure the outer sheath of the mains lead is securely held by the cable clamp
  • The Blue wire must be connected to the terminal marked N or coloured Black.
  • The Brown wire must be connected to the terminal marked L or coloured Red.
  • Check that there are no cut or stray strands of wire inside the plug.
  • Use a 13 Amp BS 1362 fuse, only use BSI or ASTA approved fuses.
  • If you are in any way unsure which plug or fuse to use, always refer to a qualified electrician.
  • After replacing or changing a fuse on a moulded plug, the cover must be refitted to the plug; the appliance must not be used without a fuse cover.

Troubleshooting Guide

Problem Possible Cause Solution

Unit fails to turn on

The unit may not be properly plugged in.
The fuse may have tripped.
Ensure the plug is fully inserted into the socket and the socket is switched on.
Check the fuse on the mains board, if it has tripped, reset it.

Low suction or poor pick-up

Dust Bag is full.
Filters are clogged.
Blockage in the hose.
Replace Dust Bag. Check and clean the filters.
Check the hose and clear if necessary.

The unit is making a hissing sound

The airflow is restricted Replace Dust Bag. Check and clean the filters.
Check the hose and clear any blockages if necessary.
