Connecting the water inlet

 Health risk posed by process chemi-
cals
Water in the dishwasher must not be
used as drinking water.
Do not drink water from the dishwasher.
Do not re-use removable sets of
hoses.Do not re-use removable hose at-
tachments. Use the sets of hoses sup-
plied with the dishwasher.
- The dishwasher must be connected to the
water supply in strict accordance with
current local and national water authority
regulations.
- The water used must at least comply with
national codes for drinking water quality. If
the water supply has a high iron content,
there is a risk of corrosion occurring on
wash items in the dishwasher, as well as
the dishwasher itself. If the chloride con-
tent of the water exceeds 100 mg/l, the
risk of corrosion to wash items being
cleaned in the dishwasher will be further
increased.
- In certain regions (e.g., mountainous re-
gions), the water composition may cause
precipitates to form, requiring the use of
softened water for the dishwasher.
- The water pressure (flow pressure) must
amount to at least 29 psi (200 kPa) over-
pressure (100 kPa = 1 bar = 14.5 psi). At a
water pressure (flow pressure) below 29
psi (200 kPa), the water inlet time extends
automatically. The maximum permissible
static pressure amounts to 145 psi
(1,000 kPa) (overpressure). If the water
pressure does not lie in the 29-145 psi
(200–1,000 kPa) range, contact Miele
Customer Service for advice.
- The dishwasher is supplied as standard
for connection to cold water (blue coded
hose) and hot water up to max. 150°F
(65°C) (red coded hose). Connect the wa-
ter inlet hoses to the supply valves for
cold and hot water.
- If no hot water supply is available, the in-
let hose with the red marking must also
be connected to the cold water supply.
- A faucet with a 3/4 inch male thread must
be provided on site. This should be easily
accessible, since the water inlet should be
shut off whenever the machine is not in
use.
- The DN 10 water inlet hose hose is ap-
prox. 67" (1.7 m) long, terminating in a
3/4 inch female thread. A 59" (1.5 m) long
flexible metal extension hose (tested to
140 bar) is available as an optional acces-
sory if required. On no account may the
inlet filter in the female thread be re-
moved.
 Damage caused by shortening the
hose.
Do not shorten or otherwise damage the
water inlet hoses supplied with the ma-
chine.
Do not shorten the water inlet hoses.
Please also refer to the installation plan
provided.
