When installing into a multi-drop network, consider that the SLN700 requires a minimum startup
current of 17 mA and a minimum terminal voltage of 11 V during startup. During device startup in
Multidrop mode the loop current sequence is like 3.4mA (for 6 sec) 8mA (6 sec) then going to
4mA, and the minimum terminal voltage is 14 V. The power source, wiring, intrinsic safety barriers,
and other devices in the network must also be considered.

Making Transmitter Adjustments

Adjustments are possible in new generation SLN700 SmartLine NCR Level Transmitters by using
the four buttons located on the display module. However, certain capabilities are limited in the
following configurations:
With a display – Display supports configuration of different parameters. Complete
transmitter configuration is also possible with HART
You can also use the Honeywell FDM to make any adjustments to an SLN700 transmitter.
Certain adjustments can also be made through the Experion Station if the transmitter is digitally
integrated with a Honeywell Experion System.
SLN700 HART
models can be configured using Honeywell tools such as Experion in conjunction
with FDM or Emerson 375 or 475.
