XL= reinforced or extra load tire. It may also appear as xl, EXTRA LOAD, or RF on the tire side-
wall.
The correct tire pressure for the spare wheel is
locat ed on a label on t he driver's side B-pillar.
Because tec hnical cha nges may be made to
vehicle equ ipment dur ing the model yea r, al-
ways compa re the tire size designation on the
tire pressure labe l on your vehicle wit h the
tires on your vehicle. Make sure that t he t ire
size information on the vehicle label is the
same as the size of the t ires on the vehicle.
This is especially important if the vehicle be-
longs to someone else or you bought the vehi-
cle with different rims/tires or you boug ht the
vehicle as a previously owned vehicle.
Remembe r, your safety and that of your pas -
sengers also depends on making sure that
load limits are not exceeded. Vehicle load in-
cludes everybody and everything in and on t he
vehicle. These load limits are technically refer-
red to as th e vehicle's Gross Vehicle Weight
Rating ("GVWR"). The Gross Axle Weight Rat-
ing ("GA WR") is t he maximum load t hat can
be ap plied at each of the vehicle's two axles.
The Gross Vehicle Weight Rating and the
Gross Axle Weight Rating are listed on the
safety compliance st icker labe l located on the
driver's side B-pillar. The tire pressure label on
your Audi lists the maximum combined
weight of all of the occupants and luggage or
ot her cargo t hat the vehicle can carry. For the

WARNING
Overloading a vehicle can cause loss of ve-
hicle cont rol, a crash or other accident, se-
rious personal injury, and even death.
- Carrying more weight tha n your vehicle
was des igned to carry will prevent the
vehicle from handling properly and in-
crease the risk of a loss of vehicle con-
trol.
- The brakes on a vehicle that has been
overloaded may not be able to stop the
vehicle with in a safe distanc e.
- Tires on a vehicle that has been overload-
ed can fail suddenly causing loss of con-
trol and a crash.
- Always make sure that the total load be-
ing transported - including t he weight of
a tr ailer hitch and t he tongue weight of a
loaded tr ailer - does not ma ke t he vehi-
cle heavier t han t he vehicle's Gross Vehi-
cle Weigh t Rat ing.

- Incorrect t ire pressure s and/or underin-
flation can lead to a serio us or fatal acci-
dent .
- Incorrect tire pressures and/or underin-
flation cause increased ti re wear and can
affect the handling of the vehicle.
