Quilting With the Quilt Maker Pro 16

Preparing to Quilt

1. Make sure your machine has been cleaned, oiled, has a new needle, and that the tracks on the frame
are free from threads or other debris. If the machine isn't already plugged in, plug it in now.
2. Select your thread and wind one or more bobbins.
3. Turn on the power switch at the back of the machine.
4. Set your bobbin tension and thread your machine.
5. A昀琀 er loading your quilt, use a scrap of fabric along the edge of the quilt backing and ba琀� ng to test the
top tension. Make adjustments to the top tension as needed.
Using the Handlebar Bu琀琀 ons
To bring bobbin thread to the top of the quilt
1. A昀琀 er the machine is threaded, move the machine over the quilt to your
star琀椀 ng loca琀椀 on.
2. While fi rmly holding the tail of the needle thread, press the needle up/
down bu琀琀 on twice, causing the needle to go down through the quilt
sandwich and then back to the up posi琀椀 on. Or press and hold the up/down
bu琀琀 on un琀椀 l the needle does a full revolu琀椀 on; then release the bu琀琀 on.
3. Move the machine four to six inches while holding the needle thread in place. The bobbin thread will
pull up through to the top of the quilt.
4. Grasp the bobbin thread loop and pull it to the desired length. Reposi琀椀 on the needle to the star琀椀 ng
loca琀椀 on, and 琀椀 e off the threads by quil琀椀 ng a few s琀椀 tches in place. Then begin quil琀椀 ng.
To start or stop quil琀椀 ng
• Start or stop the machine at any 琀椀 me by pressing the Start/Stop bu琀琀 on
on the handlebars.
