1. Remove the motor shield (14) and screws (64).

Disconnect the pump outlet hose

displacement pump outlet nipple

Remove the screws

and pressure control cover
(36) and disconnect the four
motor leads. See

4. Use
an adjustable wrench
to loosen the conduit
connector nut

at the pressure control
assembly

5.
Swing the conduit
(22) away from the conduit
elbow
( 5 4 b I .
6. Remove the conduit seal (51 from mound the wires
in the pressure control. Pull the
motor leads
through the elbow, one et a time.
CAUTION
Alwaw
pull the motor leads one at a time to avoid
loosening the terminals which could result in e bad
connection and poor sprayer performance.

Loosen the nut of the connector

at the motor
and pull the conduit

away from the motor, then
puli the leads through the conduit, one at a time.
8. Unscrew the connector elbow from the motor.

.Pull the wires through the elbow, one e t a time.

Remove the front cover and screw8

Use a 114" hex key wrench to remove the three
screws

plastic mallet to gently tap the displacement
pump

from the.reer to loosen the drive housing
from the front end bell. Then pull the drive housing
away from the end bell.
CAUTION
DO
NOT
allow the gear cluster

to fall when
removing the drive housing

It is eesih
damaged if dropped. The cluster may stay engag-
ed
in either the front end bell or the drive housing.
DO
NOT
lose the thrust balls

end of the gear cluster

or allow them
to
fall
between gears. The ball, which is heavily covered
with grease, usually stays in the gear recesses, but
could be dislodged. If caught between
gears
and
not removed, the balls will seriously damage the
drive housing.
If
the balls are not in place, the
bearings will weer prematurely.
13.
While supporting the motor
to keep the sprayer
from tipping, remove the
nuts (411,
lackwashers
(401,
and capscrews (44) holding the motor mount-
ing plate (721 to the frame. Lift the motor assembly
off the frame.
14.
Remove the mounting plate (72). four screws
(79)
s t a l l them on the new motor.

Be
sure to install the correct
length of screw.
Longer screws will damage the motor.

15. Place the new motor
assembly
on
the frame and
align
with the frame mounting holes. Install the
screws

and nuts (41). tightly.

Liberally grease the gear cluster

and pinion gear

and pack all bearings in the motor front end
bell. Check to be sure the thrust balls

in

place.
17. Be
sure the bronze-colored washer (27a) is in place

Align the gears and push
the drive housing
